Proud to produce the kits for the @allwomenstri! The team is comprised of women from a diverse range of backgrounds, all hailing from the boroughs of New York and Long Island. Their vision is to inspire and encourage more women to participate in triathlons, experiencing the empowerment of setting and achieving goals, discovering inner strength, and experiencing the joy of the sport. #hincapiefamily
#throwback to pre-roadtrip when being in Mexico was nothing but a plan and @womenridersforlife offered to take pics of Colibri and I. I have lots of plans, some play out and some don't. But you know those plans that keep haunting the back of your mind, that keep resurfacing over the years - those are the things that you need to put into action.
I have to warn you though, there is this weird feeling that happens after you've executed one of those plans that almost feels like a breakup. There is a big empty void that appears in place of the plan because it took up so much brain space until it became a reality. And that void feels unsettling because it brings about a feeling of, "huh, ok, that's done now, so what's next?" And then you need to dig deep inside and find the curiosity that keeps you alive and kicking, and conjure up another plan, or plans. Small ones at first and maybe one will turn into another long term plan that haunts you.
But I guess you also have to give yourself permission to revel in the plan's completion for a while. Reflection is just as important as future thinking. Remember the adventures, sift through photos and Google timeline to jog the memory and consider lessons learned.
Right now I am feeling the emptiness of completion, but I am excited for what's to come. My return to Merida will be short-lived as I found a really good baguette bakery in San Cristobal. So, will head back there to eat copious amounts of fresh bread. Oh, there are some special people there too ;).
21 January - Hugging Day (apparently). Copied this from the website:
‘Hugging, one of the simplest ways to show affection, is something people do with their loved ones all the time. However, it is not something that’s done enough these days! Hugging Day aims to encourage people to hug more, whether they know the person or not .’ Who are you having today?
This is Apollo’s Phlegon.
Now long past and still the greatest gentleman I’ve had the honour of having in my stable.
this week was kinda rough but I feel okay again & that’s neat. depression sucks. mental health is important though so make sure you always take care of you. I wrote myself a love letter Friday night to remind me of all of the things I need to hear when I’m down.
also thank goodness for self timers & helmets, otherwise no one would ever see how cool I think I am 🙃

So night riding has been off the table for me for a while now. I really struggle to ride at night because of the migraines I get almost right away from straining to see. This all started happening to me after I got a really nasty concussion when I crashed in a race 5 years ago. I have had a few more head injuries since then and to this day, I still struggle to enjoy night riding. It’s a bummer because the days are short during the winter and it would nice to be able to do some riding in the evenings after work. So I decided I’m going to take away the whole “straining to see” thing all together and make night riding doable again! I’ve had decent light setups in the past but decent isn’t enough. I want the brightest of bright lights. I searched for the best lights out there and ended up going with the XL Pro LED by @bajadesignsofficial for my bike light. This baby puts out 4900 lumens! 😍 I can hardly wait to try it. The next thing I’ll be doing is setting up my @motominded helmet lights. I’ll keep you guys posted on what kind they are and how I’m mounting them! #itseasy#nightride#enduro#moto#womenwhoride#bajadesigns#motominded#klimwomen#twostroke#dirtbikes#braap@klimwomen
Natashas energy is rad - the second she showed up she was cracking jokes and had confidence and charisma that makes you just want to be friends with her. She’s obviously drop dead gorgeous but is really a Tom boy at heart. I think she said she is the only girl out of 5 brothers 😧 “My name is Natasha Ettinger, I was born and raised in LA. After being on the back of my dads bike since I was a kid, I decided about 5 years ago to get my own. It was in the DNA. We took his 67 Bonnie to a parking lot, after screaming at me a few times I was off! Bought my first bike, a 69 Triumph T-100c. I rode the shit out of it for a couple years, snapped a push rod in half and ruined many many pants from all the leaks. After I sold it and cried like a baby, I bought my 07 Bonneville. The one thing I miss about my vintage is kicking it, sometimes to the point of rage :). I’m a total romantic with riding. I love that you’re in complete control of this monster machine between your legs, but I never forget that deaths chillin on his bike next to me every time. You just hope you wave, part ways, and see him again the next ride! “ #womenriders#ridemotorcycleshavefun#womenwhoride#girlgang#girlboss#photography#babeswhobuild#motolady#photographysouls#babesonbikes#motoladies#chicksonbikes#motorcycle#mototravel#mototrip#rideandshare#advmoto#instamoto#leavethemainroad#motorbikes
