* TIPS FOR TRAVELING POST PANDEMIC* (that will help you from giving the 😒 to anyone who comes within 6 feet of you)
We all want to go somewhere after this sci-fi movie turned real life wraps up. The question is how, after being socially distant for so long do we return to feeling comfortable around a lot of people?
I have said it before and I’ll repeat that I’m not a people person. I don’t like large gatherings, people standing too close to me or crowded spaces so I’ve been unwittingly practicing social distancing my entire adult life.
All of this has prepared me to share with you how I prefer to travel, which involves more intimate gatherings, visiting sites in the off hours and more. My top 5 tips are👇🏾.
🚗 Take a road trip- If you’re freaked out by the thought of flying then hit the road. My recommendation is to look at drives that are 4-5 hours from your home. You can get there in one day with minimal stops and you’ll know all of the other passengers traveling with you.
✈️ Airport meet and greet- Have you ever seen the drivers holding signs at the airport? Not only is an airport meet and greet a way to feel fancy when you touch down it also saves you from having to queue up in the ride share line or from taking mass transit.
🏨 Club or concierge level accommodations- Think skipping the lobby completely and heading straight to a private check in area. Fewer people, faster service and you’ll have access to a floor of the hotel that generally accommodates fewer guests.
🖼 Private touring- If you’ve never been on a tour bus with 44 other people now is not the time to start. Private tour guides are available in every city and besides saving you from a crowd the guide focuses in on your specific interests. Private tours are perfect for families and multi-gen groups.
🌅 Touring in advance or after hours- There are museums and attractions that you can visit before they open to the public or after hours. You’ll have a quieter experience and get the best pics possible.
Don’t forget... Tomorrow I’m launching my monthly newsletter! This is only place I’ll be sharing exclusive offers from my suppliers so sign up via the link in bio!
Cuba is cancelled. My Memorial Day trip is officially a no go but I decided I’m going anyway. Like this afternoon...
Don’t worry it’s all legal, I’m turning my house into a casa particular and I’m honoring my cancelled trip by having a Cuban inspired last day of March party 🤷🏾♀️. My tips can be applied to any cancelled vacay so try them at home for your missed trip to Maui or your postponed trip to Paris!
🇨🇺Decorate: Havana, like New Orleans is colorful so I’m getting out all of my Easter tablecloths and using them as decor to brighten up mi casa. I’m pulling in the rattan furniture from outside, all three of the plants I’ve managed to keep alive and putting images of classic cars up as the tv screensaver.
🇨🇺Music & Dance: The last time I was in Cuba we went dancing so I have Cuban Casino and Cuban Salsa lessons via YouTube. Alexa is ready with a best of Son, Mambo and Cha Cha Cha playlist and a little Spanish language refresher. If I’d planned ahead a conga would definitely be getting delivered right about now.
🇨🇺 Food & Drink: Last week I shared some great destination focused food and beverage pairings and Cuba is another locale that you can add to that list. Mojitos are an obvious choice but I’m getting creative and mixing up an El Presidente. My first choice for food would be to order from @quericocubancafe but they just closed their doors so I’m making Pescao en Escabeche for me and Ropa Vieja for the hubs.
🇨🇺 Decorating, music, dance, food and drink are all ways that we can honor our missed vacations. What are you doing to honor yours? Share👇🏾!
During quarantine, the feeling of being imprisoned is undeniable, however we have eternal free tickets for visiting old memories whenever we like - and right now I am going straight back to the stunning indoor gardens of Atocha Station in Madrid!
Chez Estación de Atocha, Madrid 🇪🇸 @bohoside 📸
Want to get a head start on planning your post-quarantine vacay? Every Monday I’ll be sharing one day itineraries so that when this is all over you have a list of where to head next. All you have to do is *save this post* don’t worry about packing or your passport!
First stop.... A Sunday in Madrid, Spain!
Stay: Not only is the @interconmadrid a @virtuosoltd property (think complimentary Club Lounge access), it’s also centrally located on the Paseo de la Castellana and has one of the most elaborate Sunday brunches in the city.
Do: Visit the El Rastro flea market, the continent’s largest outdoor market in the La Latina neighborhood.
Check the city’s cultural calendar for music in Retiro Park and concerts, film screenings, and more at the Royal Palace’s Sabatini Gardens.
Pro Tip: Some of the best fun happens after midnight. In Madrid nightlife revs up notoriously late – peak time for bars and clubs is between 1-3am and might feel challenging for the uninitiated or unprepared. Take a nap before dinner, eat around 10 PM, and don’t head out for drinks before midnight.
Eat: Mercado de San Antóno is the site of a nineteenth-century market filled with staples such as croquetas and Iberian ham. At the chic restaurant on the third floor, order à la carte or bring your own meat, seafood, and produce from the downstairs kiosks and ask the chefs to whip up something.
Pro Tip: Never skimp on the sobremesa! Sobremesa is the Spanish tradition of time spent around the table after a meal, usually over coffee, drinks, and conversation. It’s as important as the food itself – which is saying a lot, considering the level of attention that goes into what’s on the plate. A sobremesa typically lasts an hour or two – sometimes even stretching on until dinner.
There may be restrictions on travel but that shouldn’t stop us from dreaming. Sign up for my monthly newsletter (link in bio) launching April 1st and you’ll be in the loop on all of the travel offers my partners will be sending out to get tourism back up and running again in the next few months.
What are your favorite spots in Madrid & what other cities would you like to see 1 day itineraries for?

It’s the one year anniversary of Perspectives Travel! 🍾🍾🍾
It feels kind of crazy to be celebrating anything right now but I worked my butt of this year so I’m eating my last piece of @bakerybarnola doberge and drinking a bottle of champagne.
365 days ago I walked into a @virtuosoltd conference and felt both overwhelmed and exhilarated at the same time. I’d walked into a new industry that I knew I loved but also knew nothing about. Fast forward a year later and while the world has changed my commitment to my industry, clients and partners remains consistent.
What I’ve learned in the past year and especially in the past month is that you never know what’s around the corner, so all you can do is be prepared, be kind and adapt. In the last year I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Alaska, Puerto Rico, the ABC Islands, St. Kitts, the Bahamas and all over the continental U.S. I’ve sent clients to Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, South America, Central America, Mexico and 10 states. I can’t wait to get back to creating travel experiences again and hope that you’ll stick with me on this journey for another 365 days.
My plan was to saber a champagne bottle today but the hubs convinced me that I can’t end up in the ER and overwhelm an already stressed medical system so I’m making that my post pandemic resolution instead because a girl has got to have a dream.
Help me celebrate by telling me what you want to see more of... Travel tips, destination highlights, behind the scenes of a travel startup? Share in the comments and send me a virtual cheers! 🥂

The one that’s the first one I’ve posted for a while.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would it be?
I’m torn because part of me wants to pick a familiar place and part of me wants to pick a new destination.
Ok... new rules, if you could be in one familiar destination today and one new destination tomorrow where would it be?
I think my familiar destination right now would be Bora Bora. I need an overwater bungalow in my life right about .. now. For my familiar destination (see 📸 from my last trip in my highlights) I just want something easy, laid back and stress free. A good book, clear water and a massage at the @icfr_polynesia would really make me happy.
My new destination would definitely be Colombia. The hubs has been talking up Cartagena, Bogota and Medellin for years and I’d like to spend some time exploring the distinct personality of each city. I know I would enjoy the art, food, nightlife and history and could probably be convinced to check out the beaches in Cartagena too.
Your turn! What would be your familiar destination and what would be your new destination? Share your picks in the comments!
*Pro Tip* Save this post so that when we’re post pandemic and you’re wondering where you should go you have your notes and who to call! 😉.

All Bourbon is Whiskey, but not all Whiskey is Bourbon.
This is just one of the nuggets that I’ve learned in the past 48 hours I’ve spent exploring Louisville, Kentucky.
I started with a visit to the @alicenterlou where I learned about Muhammad Ali the boxer, humanitarian and artist.
Then it was time to try a Hot Brown at the @brownhotel. Turkey, bacon, tomato and cheese are smothered in a mornay sauce and served piping hot. The hotel has a grand two story lobby and was a favorite hotel of Muhammad Ali, who stayed there often.
Then it was off to hit the Urban Bourbon Trail. @gotolouisville offers a passport that you can pick up at the visitors center. Get 6 stamps when you make 6 purchases and you’ll earn a T-shirt. We focused on a mix of classic establishments and newer bourbon bars.
Today we headed east and are exploring @buffalotracedistillery@woodfordreserve and @wildturkey. I’ll share a blog post next week with a full recap and other interesting facts I’ve learned on this trip.
Are you a bourbon drinker? If so, neat or on the rocks?
Would you choose a vegan hotel, trip to space or device free vacation?
52% of Americans don't use all of their vacation days but the start of a new decade means new possibilities to explore the world or just your own city. The new decade also means that there is officially a type of travel for everyone from solo travelers to adventure travelers, mindfulness travelers and culinary travelers. Want to get out of your comfort zone this year and use that PTO? Try one of these trends to start the year off on the right foot.
Spartan holidays- Combine the idea of a digital detox with minimalist living. Think of traveling with as little as possible + only packing a few analog accessories and you have spartan holidays. The idea is to free people up, physically as well as mentally, and to help them connect with their self and their surroundings by sketching with a pencil and paper, for example, or setting off on a tech-free hike. The rise in forest micro hotels is evidence of how this trend is catching on, as people book stays in hideouts designed to be removed from the modern world.
Space Tourism- The time has finally come for @virgingalactic to take members of the public on 90 minute sub-orbital hops into space. In summer 2019, Virgin published photos of its new departure lounge at Spaceport America, where the first amateur cosmonauts will prepare for their ascent aboard VSS Unity in the next few months. Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin space company hopes to launch crewed test flights of its New Shepard craft in 2020, in preparation for sending up its first space tourists. @spacex plans to take 100 paying earthlings a week to the first-ever space hotel by 2025.
According to the Vegan Society, if the whole world went meat-free by 2050, it would save 8 million human lives and reduce greenhouse gases by two thirds. A recent survey predicted that 25% of Brits will be vegetarian or vegan by 2025. In anticipation of this uptick in demand, @saorsa1875 became the UK’s first vegan hotel with 11 rooms. No wool, silk or feather duvets appear in the rooms and the restaurant is purely plant-based.
Which of these would you pick for 2020? Spartan, Space, or Silk Free? Share ⬇️

Thinking it may be a @resortpass kind of weekend. This Coronavirus situation has turned my week upside down and I’m looking through vacay pics like it was all good just two weeks ago!
When the hubs and I visited St. Kitts in December we toured in the morning and were serious beach bums in the afternoon. It was the perfect mix of culture and cocktails and the beach club we spent the afternoon at was awesome but I wished they had a pool. Enter @resortpass
ResortPass is a hotel booking platform that provides travelers day passes for use of luxury hotel amenities without the commitment of an overnight stay. The platform has recently gone international so in addition to the 70 U.S. cities it’s in (New Orleans is one) you can now use the service in the Caribbean and Mexico!
ResortPass is ideal if you want the opportunity to experience multiple resorts during your trip or if you want to experience resort amenities while staying in a vacation rental or coming off a cruise. Prices start around $25 for access to pools, hot tubs, the beach, spas, fitness centers, the property’s Wi-Fi and more. Top-tier day passes range up to $150 or more for private cabanas, which often include food and drink services.
*Save this post* for when you need a day at the pool, want to escape your Airbnb, or just need to remember that for $25 you too can order drinks from a stool at the pool bar! 😎

Itthon is lehetne ilyet, plíz? 🤔😄😉 #bokoljunktobbet#legyunkkedvesekoknelkulis#newyorkcity#bigapple#nycityworld
Last Light on the Mountain ⛰☀️ This was literally the first frame I shot after getting into North Cascades National Park last night, these mountains and this state has been surprising me more and more everyday. @northcascadesnps
