The towering peaks of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre form one of the most iconic skylines on the planet.
Millions of people wear this silhouette on their chest everyday without even realising it, as the Patagonia brand continues to surge in popularity.
I'd be lying if I said that this logo didn't have an impact on me as well. Whilst I can't pin down a single moment, my appreciation for the brand years ago likely led to me first being aware of Patagonia as a region and a destination, and the start of my personal mission to see it for myself.
Arriving into the town of El Chaltén (which is the launching point for all treks into these mountains), I couldn't resist making a dash up a nearby hill to snap my own version of the logo which started it all. Of all the mind blowing sunsets we witnessed on our travels, this one will always feel extra special.
Going to the mountains is... I really really wish I could call the mountains my home again this summer but I still don't think it's in the cards this year.
As of June 15 we are allowed to go abroad to most European countries but there's that ongoing risk of countries shutting down again really quickly when things start to go wrong again. So I don't think going to remote locations for several days or more is a very smart thing to do.
Staying closer to cities, staying more connected isn't my kind of adventure. And being dependent on public transport doesn't help either right now 🤔
There is that alternative. Staycation. That new word in town. Going on holiday in your own country. But that's not something I can get cheerful about while living in The Netherlands. It's such a flat pancake... Yes we do have a couple of tiny hills but no real mountains in sight.
Such a bummer 😏
But hey! Although it will get harder to stretch my patience I know those good days will return!! Days of planning and prepping big. So I will challenge my patience. And man will I be excited when I'm able to return to my home away from home again. And so over the moon when that thrill of a new big adventure finally appears on the horizon. It may take a while longer but I'll be sooo ready when that day comes! 😄
Can we please have the sunshine back? All I want to do under these grey skies is hibernate under the duvet! 😴 What are you up to?

From the largest cascade to the smallest trickle, there is something so relaxing about the sound of running water.
We cannot wait to explore more of the waterfalls in the UK if we cannot get abroad this year.
Tell me where your favourite waterfalls are!!
For now, we can only look back on the cascade of Veu da Noiva on São Miguel Island.

The inner workings of a tiny #daisy are beautiful. Then there’s my new itty bitty friend I didn’t even know was there until I put the lens close to the daisy. #macrophotography

One thing to be conscious of as we move forward is statements within our rhetoric that are “us vs. them,” even when showing support and positivity. The goal is that we lift up those who’ve been pushed down so that we can move forward together. We’re all human, and our differences should be celebrated as facets of our whole. We can no longer let differences in humanity be used to separate us from each other and give some an advantage while taking that advantage away from others. If you have any questions about how to approach this, please feel free to reach out💚🤗
Until Black Lives Matter, we cannot make the claim that all lives matter. This is a statement I will stand by, no matter what, as it is the truth until we’ve truly taken accountability, taken action, and driven change within our society. This change will involve a daily commitment to being aware, to learning and doing more than we have before... It will involve listening to the unheard voices, and speaking up. This change has to be more than a trend, more than the next forgotten moment in history. It has to be radical, and it has to be permanent. I will continue to share ways you can show support and learn, and do my best in every day to make sure that my actions match my words. This is my commitment to taking a stand, not just today, not just tomorrow, but every single day. You can find more resources on how you can support via the link in my bio. It’s time for change! 🖐🏿🖐🏾🖐🏽🖐🏼🖐🏻
Mother Nature doesn’t discriminate, so why do we? I’m not asking this to receive an answer, but more to encourage you to think about it for yourself, to find ways that you can educate yourself. I have a general understanding, but I will also be more intentionally taking on the task of educating myself. The current pandemic has done something that has a certain ugly beauty to it. It’s brought an unavoidable attention to the disparity and depravity that our society and culture is built upon. Yes, it’s uncomfortable to realize. Yes, you should be feeling a range of emotions, from sadness to anger. I want to encourage you to embrace all of that, as from within discomfort comes growth. Use your voice, yes. Speak up where it’s appropriate to do so, speak up against those who would use their privilege to harm others, and listen to those who’ve been unheard for years and years. But more importantly, I want you to ask yourself, how will I act? Will you take the time to educate yourself? Will you hold the space for the unheard voices to be heard? Will you donate your time and money? Will you educate your children so that future generations don’t slip up? Will you lift up those who have been denied access, been discriminated against and hurt, until the scales begin to tip towards equality. Will you continue to hold this space until we reach that point? It’s one thing to say you will do something and another to actually do it. Again, I’m not looking for answers here, but I want everyone to be asking themselves... how will I act? How will I help to create change and the hold space, and maintain this current level of awareness until change has actually occurred?
