Why would you want to do anti rotational exercises? 🤔
✅ It helps prevent injuries by making you better able to handle outside forces acting on you.
✅ You will have a more powerful and explosive core.
✅ Less low back pain.
✅ You might gain mobility in your hips, hamstrings, shoulders, and neck. When your brain feels unstable/unsafe in the core, it starts lockdown on all the attaching structures as a way to protect itself from injury. 🧠
✅ Helps with diastasis recti.
On the third exercise, try using a weight to challenge yourself. You can also up the ante by doing it from six month DNS plank instead of quadruped! 🔥

A handstand is a full-body pose that requires strength, flexibility, integration, and alignment of the entire body.
Every single muscle in your body, from your fingertips to your heels, must activate in order to hold the pose.
Here is one of the steps that helps to build more strength in the core and feel the balance.
Activate your fingers so you are using the pads to press in into the ground when you are lifting your legs one by one.
And don’t forget to enjoy the process! 🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️
No idea what this shape is called. I think this is brilliant for training the wrist and the core. Clearly it was killing me since I was so focused on keeping my hips up that I can’t even smile. 🙃 #potatoyogaprogress

Eka Pada Koundinyasana (Hurdler pose or Flying Splits) to Ganda Bherundasana (Chin Stand)
1. start from Downward facing dog
2. step one foot forward and outside of hand
3. Try to bring shoulder under the front leg
4. exhale and lean forward to have weight on your arms... lift back leg... straight front leg and look follow front foot... and you are now in Eka Pada Koundinyasana!
Now fun part.
5. Turn the head forward with long neck chin on the ground at the same time press inner tight of front leg to elbow to send both legs up
6. And voila... try to keep both legs together and work on stability.
This asana is also known as Downward Facing Dog pose.
This pose is done on the forearms, which relieves wrist pressure.
Doing this asana daily strengthens, and stretches our shoulders, upper back and legs. Our core muscles also gain strength and stability from practicing this yoga posture.
Kia Ora tātou - it’s been awhile.
Honestly I haven’t wanted to add unnecessary noise to your feed for the sake of it and until now I haven’t felt called to post. I’ve been wrapped up the last 4 weeks in my yoga bubble studying, learning, teaching and growing all whilst trying to understand all the global unrest, figure out ways I can help and also be a human.
I only want to share things that I genuinely know will benefit somebody in some way so I will keep using my time spent on here to build on creating things for you that are helpful, give you knowledge and come from a place of authenticity 🖤

“Yoga allows you to find a new kind of freedom that you may not have even known existed” - B.K.S Iyengar .
This resonates with me so much. I first started yoga because I wanted to be flexible, then I realised it can also make me strong too 💪🏼 But the physical benefits are barely even the start! .
The discipline it takes to show up on your mat, the freedom you feel when you can do whatever you want with your body when you arrive on your mat, the calm that enters your body, the excitement when you can watch your progress & most importantly the parts of you that you discover when practicing yoga... that’s what makes it magic 💫 .
So YES start yoga to become flexible, strong or whatever you desire! Do core exercises, do your stretches & enjoy the journey to becoming more YOU than you’ve ever felt before 🦋 NAMASTÉ 🦋

🖤 I love and accept myself 🖤
Day 4️⃣ of #YogaForSummerSolstice is twisted boat & our prompt is: How do you show self-love?✨
I show that I love myself by having grace with myself. Allowing my body and mind to wander and then come back when they're ready, & not being too harsh. We were each so wonderfully made that there's no reason to compare or be frustrated with ourselves. I think it's so important to be compassionate and show ourselves love!💜
How do you show your self love?☀️

Don't move the way fear makes you move.
Move the way love makes you move.
Move the way joy makes you move.

I don’t like ab work, but I do quite like navasana / boat pose ⬆️
Maybe it’s because I really love the sea? 😁🙄
I went to the beach this morning and the sea was quite lively....We’re only allowed to swim from the beach in the port, just now and it’s pebbly and rocky. Getting in and out of the water can be tricky when the sea is a little rougher and I nearly decided against going in. Anyway I got a grip, put some big girl’s pants on and went in. I got knocked over a bit and ended up doing a bit of a dodgy dive to get deep enough to swim, but it was so worth it. It gave me a bit of an adrenaline kick and I loved it. (Yes I know I need to get out more) I ended up swimming quite a long way out and got a bit of a telling off from from Mr Jane in-Spain🤣
So my message for today is face your fears, weigh up the risks, but push yourself out of your comfort zone and you’ll get more out of your life😉 #youonlygetonelife
