I’m not crazy about the lighting in this picture - but by the time the lighting was better I had already finished the hat. Oh well. I’ll try to plan better next time. I’m in the process of writing this pattern out - so be on the lookout for my tester call!

Protesting with kids.
Should you take your kids to a protest? Yes! (Disclaimer: you are the best judge of what your kids can understand, how they tolerate large groups, the mood in your area, etc so please make your own informed decision before attending.) But yes, if you can, I think you should. If you live in a country with freedom of expression and assembly, demonstrations are an important and necessary way to make the collective voice of the people heard to politicians and corporations that dismiss us individually.
The climate crisis is *the* defining issue of humanity, and we would be remiss not to model responsible and engaged citizenship to the children who will shape the world of the future. Although they cannot vote yet, children are citizens and as such have the same right to security of person as the rest of us. This HAS TO include drinkable water, breathable air, and a fair food system.
Some tips for protesting with kids:
• Explain what a protest is.
• Ask them why standing up for yourself and others is a good thing.
• Discuss the purpose of the event you plan to attend.
• Show them YouTube videos of similar demonstrations so they know what to expect.
• BRING LOTS OF SNACKS!
• Dress in layers.
• Have an exit strategy in case of emergency or them being OVER IT.
Do you plan to attend a global climate strike? Are you bringing your kids? Why or why not?

I watch the weather pretty closely all year, but in particular, right now. In spite of the hot days I’m always keeping an eye out for frost. I was happy to see in this morning’s forecast there’s no frost over the next two weeks! That brings us all the way to October 4th. The flowers are loving the warm weather and the recent rain and are constantly churning out new buds. Tickets available for upcoming cut your own flowers days - check out the link in my bio.

We have another house of the week!
322 Melrose Avenue was originally listed at $3,198,000, and finally sold at $2,600,000. What do you think of this place? 🤔
You made it! 🍎
You’ve made it through the first few weeks of school and are back into routine!
Congratulations! It’s hard to get back into the habits that have been thrown out the window over the summer!🎉
You can let a lot of things go over the summer, knowing that you’ll pick up the pieces when September comes around..
But it’s now the middle of September, and now you’re realizing that the problems are still there!
They just look a little different.
In the summer, it’s toys, bikes, and goldfish crackers everywhere - everything feels chaotic, but you know it’s only a temporary thing.
You’re right, summer is short!😎
Yet, the problem is still there - it just looks different. 🤔
The new “mess” consists of backpacks and an unbelievable amount of carefully labelled tupperware.
There’s school books, and stationary, and pencil crayons, and running shoes everywhere, in the same places that the summer mess was!😅😅
Take a moment to stop and think, maybe all the stuff your family has that causes a “mess”, may not be the problem at all - the problem might just be SPACE!
(or lack of it!) _
Now that your family is back in the swing of things, it’s time to start getting your goals back on track too.
If you feel like you’re busting at the seams as your kids grow up, and your family’s belongings are overwhelming you, but you don’t really have anywhere to store it, the problem might not just be as simple as being organized.
It’s probably just time to move to a house that fits you.

I had a great conversation today with two really creative friends of mine about relationships..
We all have circles in life - our inner (core) circle consists of family, then there’s a ring for friends, then colleagues, then aquaintances, and finally there’s the people that I sometimes feel are just “extras” in my life’s movie - living as complete strangers!🧐🤔
The sentiment of the conversation was that those people outside of the core can come and go to make new space for others… And while that’s mostly true, it really got me thinking...
What I love about my job and what I write is that I have a chance to help all of these different people in all circles - whether they hire me to help them buy or sell a home, or simply if they read a post and its helped them learn something new.
I know “selling real estate” isn’t exactly some philanthropic vocation that is profoundly changing people’s lives, but what I do certainly contributes to, and is a reflection of, how people’s lives are ever-changing and evolving... and I am so super grateful for the opportunity to share in that.
So i just wanted to say thank you all for your ongoing support, your ‘likes’ and comments, and the nice things you say to me when you see me in public.
Even those of you that I don’t know, I see you! I hope a can teach or inspire you in some way too! Even if we never speak a word to each other.
My life isn’t perfect, and my job can be beyond crazy, but I am grateful to have all of my circles on this crazy journey with me! 🤗
So, yeah! Love ya!💜
