18+ miles of hiking
20 miles on bikes
124 steps up the steepest stairs
Countless amounts of laughter
Thankful for another beautiful experience in my happiest of places. So many continued lessons in humility, perspective and gratitude were re-learned and affirmed. It was also a powerful reminder to stay curious, laugh A LOT, explore often and respect this amazing planet we live in
Being stuck inside for months isn't easy.
I feel ya I felt the same way. You don't have to go to Yosemite to be soul refreshed (although it's beautiful out there.)
Do what makes your soul happy, safely of course 😉
Anyone that's been to Yosemite, what are some places that's a must see? Share below.
p.s. refreshed and ready for some new earrings to drop this week 🤭
One of my favorite spot to visit is National Park! 🌲 Each park has a unique signage so make sure you take a good pic there. Yosemite has nice picnic areas and the waterfall is beautiful! Must visit if you are around San Francisco area!
In the 1850s James Savage and the Mariposa Battalion entered this Valley. They ran out the indigenous occupants burning down their Homes during the process. Over a 100 years later the National Park Service repeated this act, burning down the Indian housing west of Camp 4 and evicting the occupants once again. The Southern Sierra Miwok still go unrecognized by the Federal Goverment and still have no place for residence In their ancestral home. #yosemite#nationalpark#johnmuirwasaracist#home#myhomeisyourhome#tenaya

Desolation. Desperation. Loneliness. Vacancy. A roadside motel, with plywood covered pool, along Interstate 5/California Grapevine. This hotel is open.
There is something humbling about mountains. Maybe it’s their tall and grandiose appearance or the initial intimidation when you cast your eyes on it. But ultimately, the most humbling part is the sense of accomplishment that you get after climbing one. #peru_adventures
Can you see me in the first picture? 👍👍

Love this shot of us! We were on our way back down the cables and we stopped to the side to let people go up. One girl was scared of heights, and I know exactly how she felt, but we all cheered her on and she made it! Just like we made it all the way up and down!! It was killer!!
Under Yosemite Sky. The Milky Way Above Towering Giant Sequoia Trees, Some of the Largest and Tallest Trees on Earth, reaching 70-80 meters tall (210-240 ft) and up to 2700 years old. Photographed a few years ago in California. Available for print orders now: print.babaktafreshi.com (link in my bio) @twanight#yosemite#sequoia#trees#nightsky#fineart
Throwback to when I could get @theolator to model for all of my shots because he didn’t own a camera yet. It sure came in handy, yet I’m glad he picked one up eventually. Have a look at his shots to see why. ✌🏻
Massive shoutout to the man @creyety for making my photo come to life. It might just be another Instagram post to you, but it’s come a long way: The foundation was laid back in 2015 when I took a snap of @theolator skating down a pretty californian curve (swipe to see). Five years went by and I got in contact with @creyety after seeing some insane parallax animations of his. I figured that my skate photo could work perfectly for his magic so I asked him to animate it. This is the result! 😳
I took 1/1000 second to freeze this moment in time, @creyety spent 12 hours to unfreeze it. Worth it? If you think so, give him a follow. ✌🏻

I can’t wait to get back here and wander around. I’ve never actually been here with no plans. I’ve always done quick trips that were based on a certain shot. I have a pass to go in at the end of the month but wasn’t able to find any campsites yet. Worst case I’ll find something in the eastern sierras I suppose.
When I shot this, I wasn’t there for a sunrise. I was there to see how the full moon would line up. This was just an incredible bonus that I was able to catch thanks to @ig_escaype forecast.
This also reminds me that if I do some work, I usually get pleasantly surprised at the outcome as it is better than I could have imagined.
Due to the steepness of this route I have been receiving questions asking if this was shot in the Alcove of El-Cap . We rigged there before , and it was a very straight forward climbing and an easy set up . Getting to this location was much more involved, and Priscilla is hanging off Clean gear in a crack instead of three bolts.
