Something that has alway been very important to us is holding spaces for makers that are just starting out, and are “new to the scene”. We try our best to provide a platform that is safe, supportive, and uplifting; while at the same time being a place to launch a product, business, or ideas.
We’ve seen so many acts of fearlessness and bravery as people put their whole selves out into the world, as they share their hopes, dreams and passions.
Each and everyone of you is a marvel, and we hold you in such high esteem✨
A little late, but in October I had my friend Linda come visit me all the way from Turku, Finland. I made sure to show her what Victoria had to offer in the way of nature as well as Canadian culture!
It was kinda cool experiencing Victoria as a tourist. Makes you see where you live in a whole different way. (Wow we sure love Moose and Bears). Additionally, Linda had never experienced Halloween before, so that was definitely a highlight.
Spent the entire day making labels for our apothecary & candle lines via @mauroandco
Morning - Skipped
Late Morning - Toad in the hole minus the bread
Lunch - Grapes & strawberries Snack - Beef patties w/ onions & cucumber salad
Dinner - Apple Chips & roasted nuts +sleepy tea
Attended the @cityofvictoria Reconciliation Dialogue tonight on #undrip and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action led by @briannabearart. I deeply appreciated the powerful teachings, dancing and stories shared, and the heartfelt discussions at the table where I sat. The question I will now reflect upon is how will I carry forward what I learned tonight into my life. I think it has to do with showing up, being accountable, taking actions to learn and listen and hold space, and a whole lot more that I will learn as I go. #reconciliationvic#yyj
⭐️The learning Curve ⭐️
It’s so real for me right now. Even though I’ve done this before with Dave, and I have life with her down to a science, it does NOT mean that it all directly transfers to our sweet Bernardo. His body structure is very different and his anatomy isn’t the same which is definitely throwing me for some loops. I am so reminiscent of the beginning days with Dave when I was flying by the seat of my pants, and figuring everything out by trial and error. It’s a good thing this boy is so sweet and patient with me, because lord knows I need it from him right now.
I eagerly await the days where I have everything streamlined and I look back on this time and laugh at what a rookie I was.
Even though a lot of the lessons I have learned from Dave have helped fostering Bernardo feel way less intimidating, it’s still so humbling to be back at the beginning of a journey with so much to learn.
My world may have just gotten a lot smaller living with two paraplegic dogs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. This guy deserves a chance at the life Dave found with me, and I know in my heart there is someone else out there who is up for the super rewarding challenge of sharing a life with a dog who has disabilities.
So please help me in my mission, and share the word about this beautiful boy! 🤗🐾

hot damn am i feeling refreshed after my short island adventures. i felt so trapped in the big city and didn't even realize it tell i arrived in swartz bay. having no vehicle definitely makes it difficult to leave vancouver, but i'm blessed to live close to transit to the ferries and blessed to have a super cool brother to drive sometimes too.
i feel like i forgot how close i really am to such amazing spots. definitely want to take advantage of the area and the island more. BUT FIRST... #investinsomesolidraingear

Jord was off all last week and it was just so wonderful. We didn’t do anything special, just the school run, swimming lessons and dance class but it was so nice just being together. Lazy-ish mornings (as lazy as they can be when the baby doesn’t sleep past 6:15 🥱 ), chill days and really just plain ol’ quality time before I head back to work (in like 3 weeks! Eek!). I pinch myself all the time that I get to do life, family and ministry with this guy. He’s swell and I’m thankful. #BakersBakersHomemakers

While The Gardens sleep, the Varied Thrush and Hummingbird make themselves at home. Our ecosystem provides an ideal sanctuary for birds that stay through the winter, or are in the process of migrating south for season.
Are you seeing any birds in your garden at this time of year? #butchartinseason

Sleep is so precious, just like a sleeping infant. I often try and sleep when the boys are asleep. Grayson was napping while I was about to put the sheets in the wash. I love watching him sleep, I wonder if he's dreaming about the mattress he's sleeping on right now. haha, all kidding aside. We have loved our Endy mattress since getting it in July. I can't stop boasting about it to my family & friends, constantly getting questions on how we like our mattress.
Our good friends now have an Endy, family members who also just welcomed their new son into the world got an Endy before he was born. SUCH a good call especially for us sleep deprived parents and now my in laws are thinking about getting one too! We will be an Endy family forever I think. We're going to have to check out the Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals coming up to snag a weighted blanket or duvet! 😍
Do you have an Endy? or have you tried one? Needing a mattress upgrade? Use my code MILLENNIALMOM50 for $50 off any size mattress. #endypartner
