I was compelled to photograph what struck me as being reminiscent of a ship’s bow and at the same time, the structure had a peculiar ‘theatre set’ like quality.
The story for me was one of parallels and diagonals. The yellow roof jutted into the blue expanse perfectly.
The lamppost was neatly parallel to the maroon band at the front of the building along with all its corners and the numerous slats and green shuttered windows.
There needed to be a hint of animation to offset the potential sterility of the building and when all else was aligned, the perfect candidate arrived on cue in the form of a seagull flying in to join his mate who awaited him just on the roof’s corner and perfectly lit on the shadow’s edge. Had the trajectory of his arrival been a mere one metre lower, his shadow would have missed the wall.

La prima uscita di stagione... il freddo secco della montagna, il primo bip dello skipass, il sole, le prime curve, le mille righe delle poste tirate dai gatti... insomma tante belle sensazioni che ricominciano da oggi.

Lip plates are worn by women of the Surma and Mursi people of the lower Omo River valley in Ethiopia. It is said that the larger the clay plate, the more value a woman has before she is married. Originally the plates were used to deter capture from slave traders. .
Interesting place. The amount of detail in the sanctuary is amazing. The guides were knowledgeable and gave lots of information and friendly. There were elephants you can ride and goats to pet and shops to buy souvenirs. All in all probably one of the more interesting things to do while in Pattaya. 🇹🇭 🙏
What’s made of mud, stays cool in the hottest weather and boasts a design that hasn’t changed in 3,000 years?
The ancient “Beehive” houses in Harran in the southeastern Anatolian region of Turkey!📍🇹🇷 Their thick mud brick (adobe) walls traps the cool air and keeps the sun out! 🌞 Beehive homes have just a few windows. The high domes collect the hot air, moving it away from the ground floor keeping the interior around 75°F (24°C)
Each dome is built from about 1,400 adobe bricks! 🧱
