After Ocotillo I start walking the Yuha desert. Most of the time I have the bad road for myself. Cracks and holes make it tiresome to walk. For the rest lots of sand and buggies near Plaster City. Just before Seeley I go off the main road as there is another strange acting guy walking on the other side of the road...seems there is a state prison near here. So I just play it safe😎😎😎
And am rewarded with a nice place to sleep and no spook's at night.
Next morning early I have problems with my wheels again...a spoke is gone and many other are loose....very strange as it's a new walkingtrailer. It dangles and this time I took a spoke trimmer with me so I could solve the problem myself!...but it doesn't work good as the result is still nada.
A few nice Mexicans took it into their huge truck and while we drive into El Centro he tells me a nice story about a walker and his donkey, or burro as they say in Spanish😎
As it's Saturday I am happy the bike repair shop is open and he can fix the problems, add new spokes and trim the wheels again. Pfff this makes me 10 years older again. Coming days I walk in the desert and have to overcome three days with own supplies. So my trailer I must rely on for 1000%. So a bit of a disappointment as it's just new.
After leaving El Centro I walk whole rest of the day in the rain. And just before Brawley I set up camp in the middle of a agriculture plant...the soil is sticky from the rain and add 10 centimeter soles to my feet. I can hardy walk.
So the first seven days of walking is finished, I take two nights break in town and went into a Wal-Mart for the first time in my life: Welcome to America! The supermarket is the same size as IKEA in Holland. So very huge.
On the blog this morning: our final stop on our Thanksgiving Weekend Away...~2 days in Prague. We do fully plan on going back to Prague to do a little bit more exploring. I fell in love with the city and I feel like there is so much more to see. I’ve detailed out what we did this first time around though- link in bio ☺️
