Two Sides of the Same Bookcase

The two sides of the bookcase are together, though they’re only held in place by clamps and the tongues of the panels. Next step is the loose-tenon joinery, and then a bit of shaping on the legs (which get a stopped chamfer on the outermost corner). After all that, I’ll do some prefinishing – then it’ll be on to the glue-up. Huzzah!

Unfortunately, a lot of that will have to wait – tomorrow we’re off to Morehead, Ky., for a trip to see Chester Corbett’s wacky furniture (more on that soon). Then Thursday, it’s off to Fort Bragg, Calif., to the @thekrenovschool’s midwinter show and hang out at my alma mater and with the great friends I’ve got out there. See you soon @laurabmays and the rest of you elephants!
