Had to dip into my travel allotments to pay for my car fix, so I traded one independence (solo travel to Dublin this spring) for more locally sourced and immediate independence (a functional vehicle). Bummer. 🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗 I'll still get back to you, Dublin, my heart. I love these ancient flags at St. Patrick's Cathedral and the history. So I'm naturally still mentally planning my trip. Maybe a stop in London to see Jake in another show? As long as we're dreaming here....... ✈✈✈✈🚁✈✈✈✈✈✈🛩 I miss being in a city you don't need to drive in. In Detroit it's either drive or don't go for the most part. Can't rely on the bus for nothin. I miss walking to a place. Any place. 👟
They don’t call it the Emerald Isle for nothing! 💚
For anyone who has the privilege to visit Ireland, be sure to stop at the Giant’s Causeway. AND, take the “harder” routes. Like many things in life, it’s never as tough as you think and the result is worth the effort.
And to think I almost didn’t make it to Ireland... 🇮🇪🍻🍀

Along the Atlantic Drive on Achill you pass by this old cottage. It’s not inhabited as far as I know but it has a nice appearance. Today I was up in the early morning for the sunset at Cloughmore (more of that is to come) and on the way back I had this incredible light. What must have been like to have lived in such a remote place and the views of the Atlantic ocean all to yourself?
😉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes, we did it too 😜
In search of the most famous photo opportunity of Cobh you have to take a quite strenuous walk up steep roads. Thanks to his size Falk eventually found the sight of the colorful terraced houses also called "Deck of Cards", hidden behind a high stone wall, with the cathedral and the sea in the background. I wouldn‘t have found it because I'm too small (see 2nd picture) 😅
Even though the motif has been photographed many times and is everywhere on Instagram, we don‘t want to withhold it from you. 😉
Most people flock to Ireland in the summer, but with all of the colors of the landscape melting from the deepest greens to rust and then browns this is without a doubt my favorite time of year. It’s the place where crisp salty sea air meets blazing fires, hearty grub, warming drinks and wool blankets. If you are thinking of traveling to Ireland, I suggest you give the seasons of autumn and winter a try. /
And while we are over here loving Kerry at the moment and taking all of the photos that we can of roads, I am also so very happy to confirm that we will be spending Christmas in Italy. Funny to think that Giacomo has never spent Christmas in Italy apart from his stint in utero. /
So looking forward to catching up with family and good friends as well as eating and cooking some really good food. /
Autumn in Killarney has us ENCHANTED! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jonathan and I closed after Halloween for 2 weeks to enjoy the Autumn season, sleep in and just simply take it easy! We plan to open up for 3 more weekends in November before we close up for the winter season! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This photo is just stunning and really gives you the fresh misty autumn mornings here in Killarney! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

◦ It feels good to be lost in the right direction ☼
[🇬🇧] Do you believe in second chances? The first one that we visited the Giant's Causeway, one of the most emblematic places in Northern Ireland, we didn’t like it at all. It was raining so much and it was so cold that we were not able to enjoy the place⛈
After 2 years (😱), we came back with Borja's family and ... Surprise! It had nothing to do with the first time we went. The weather was so good that we took the opportunity to walk all the trails that were there. Has it ever happened to you in any country or place? It is very cold in Dublin, winter is coming🥶.. How is the weather in your country?

I look so ridiculous trying to take pictures in the rain but I can't stop laughing every time I watch. 😂 #dork
Relaxing day consisting of sleeping in and exploring 💚
Drove (on the left side of the road) to Connemara National Park and The Kylemore Abbey Castle. I’m falling for ya, Ireland. •

On your next trip to Belfast why not add on a trip to Derry-Londonderry?
The rail line between Belfast and Derry is one to behold, particularly from Coleraine on. It sweeps along the northern coast past Mussenden Temple, Downhill Strand and Magilligan Point. It’s an option if you’re using Derry as the start or end of an exploration of the northern coast🚈
