6 Fun facts you may not know about renters protection—
1.) Renters insurance includes “additional living expenses” coverage if your place becomes uninhabitable after a disaster and you need to find somewhere else to live temporarily. The coverage would reimburse you for extra expenses, such as the cost to stay in a hotel or rent another apartment.
2.) If a visitor is injured at your apartment, renters insurance would pay the medical bills up to the policy’s limit.
3.) Renters insurance provides liability insurance to cover injuries or property damage you and your family members cause others. So if your kid breaks a neighbor’s rare antique vase, your policy could pay to replace it.
4.) If someone gets injured in your apartment or you accidentally hurt somebody and are sued, the liability coverage on a renters policy would pay your legal costs and court awards, up to the policy’s limit.
5.) Most renters insurance policies provide coverage if your dog bites someone, either at your home or off the property.
6.) Your things are covered away from home, too, for the perils listed on the policy. So you’re covered if a thief steals stuff out of your car or swipes your luggage from a hotel room.
Full coverage DOES NOT exist. You either have the right coverages to protect your risk or you have gaps in your coverages. I wrote an auto/home/ umbrella policies for a 69 year old customer yesterday that didn't understand the difference between um/ui property and bodily damage, standard and added on options and what and how the coverages would pay out in a claim. We spent an hour together, and made the right coverage decision for him.
Here's MY WHY...I want my customers to understand their coverages, to make the best decision for their suitation and make the best and wisest use of their premium dollars.

"Omagh" is the name of a small town in Northern Ireland. We chose an Irish theme for the house (and each of the rooms!) because the builder and first resident, William Hamilton, came from Ireland🇮🇪
There's a TV, a bumper pool table, a poker table, a game of chess, and some board games waiting for you!

After accumulating some great new things all 2019, January is a great month to update or create an Inventory of all your personal items. Use Google Docs or a cloud based software so it is always accessible and make sure everyone in your home has access to the file.
This is also a great way to determine if you have enough coverage on your Homeowners Policy or Renters Insurance for personal property.
Additionally, having a record of your personal items could potentially expedite the claims process in the event of a loss especially if you decided to include photos with your inventory.
You have to grow up at some point, might as well get some grown up insurance🤷🏾♀️. *
