“Narai Juku” is located at present-day Nagano prefecture. It used to be a post town and an important route for merchants travelling between Kyoto and Tokyo during Edo period (c.1603 - 1868). Had been well-preserved for more than 300 years, the local residents today continue to offer the best protection. As a testament to the preservation effort, the street resembles a newly crafted movie set.
